Short & Medium Training
Short-Term Training
UC-LEND Short-Term Trainees complete 0-40 hours of UC-LEND-associated training over one academic year. Short-term training opportunities with UC-LEND may include brief education or clinical training via LEND lectures or short-term rotations with the UC-LEND Clinic. Individuals or programs interested in short-term training opportunities should contact uc-lend@mednet.ucla.edu.
LEND Lecture Series
The UC-LEND program offers customizable short term training programs to a variety of groups, including residency programs, typically in the form of a short lecture series (3-4 lectures total) provided over an academic year by UC-LEND faculty and partners.
Topics may include, but are not limited to: IDD, ADHD, Autism, Diagnostic Odyssey, Transition to Adulthood, and more. A complete list of topics may be requested from the LEND team via email at uc-lend@mednet.ucla.edu.
Healthcare Student Rotations
The UC-LEND Program serves as a rotation site for UCLA students and trainees during their time at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine or as a medical resident with UCLA Medicine-Pediatrics or Pediatrics. These trainees complete short-term LEND training via video lectures and hands-on clinical training with UC-LEND clinicians.
These rotations are organized by UCLA Residency and Medical School Program Coordinators and Directors. Programs looking to partner with UC-LEND as a rotation site may email uc-lend@mednet.ucla.edu. Please note that partnerships are limited to clinical preceptor availability and new rotations are not guaranteed.
Medium-Term Training
UC-LEND Medium-Term Trainees complete between 40-299 hours of UC-LEND-associated training over one academic year. These trainees can include undergraduate students, postgraduate trainees, and working professionals who want to receive LEND training but do not have the time or flexibility to commit to the long-term training program.

UCLA Physician Training
UCLA Physicians interested in expanding their ability to provide neuro-affirming care for individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions are invited to join the UC-LEND Physician Training Program to become a LEND Champion.

Undergraduate Training
Undergraduate students at UCLA are eligible to participate in the advanced medium-term UC-LEND Training Program for Undergraduate Trainees.
Undergraduate Trainees complete medium-term Asynchronous UC-LEND Training and may be eligible for additional opportunities to get involved with UC-LEND, including mentorship, lecture series, professional development, and more.

UC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Postgraduate Certificate Program
The UC-LEND program serves as a preceptor site for the UC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Postgraduate Certificate Program. As part of this 500-hour program, Nurse Practitioners complete the following LEND Training requirements.
Asynchronous Curriculum: UC-LEND PMHPs complete an abbreviated asynchronous curriculum that provides a clinical, research, and public health view of different sectors of health care that are affecting individuals neurodevelopmental conditions.
UC-LEND Clinic: As a part of their clinical rotation, PMHNP trainees will rotate in the UC-LEND Clinic and work alongside UC-LEND PMHNPs to develop and apply scientific knowledge to clinical practice, including diagnosis, clinical decision making, direct care and medical management of individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions.
