About the UC-LEND & Pathway Mock Clinic

Since 2022, the UC-LEND and UCLA Extension Pathway programs have collaborated on the annual Health Advocacy Mock Clinic event to provide self-advocacy experience for Pathway students and neurodiversity-friendly patient care experience for healthcare students.

The 5th Annual Health Advocacy Mock Clinic

The 2026 UC-LEND and UCLA Extension Pathway Annual Health Advocacy Mock Clinic will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM.

Interested in volunteering?

Each year, healthcare student volunteers, supervised by UC-LEND clinicians, are in charge of running the mock primary care visits for 10-20 Pathways students.

Students receive guidance and training on how to provide effective and equitable care for individuals with neurodevelopmental disabilities.

Volunteer requirements:

  • Must be a current UCLA medical student, medical resident, or nursing student
  • Must be available to commit to a 3-hour volunteer slot (includes a 1h-hour pre-event training lecture)

Other UCLA student volunteers are also welcome to participate! Non-healthcare volunteers may be responsible for assisting with clinic management and event logistics.

Interested volunteers may email uc-lend@mednet.ucla.edu for more information.
