About Us

All Brains is a student-focused and student-led program that plans and arranges events around constant feedback from neurodiverse students at UCLA. Our collaboration with campus resources such as the Center for Accessible Education (CAE), Bruin Resource Center (BRC), and Residential Life has allowed us to create a community that caters to the social and emotional well-being of neurodiverse students. All Brains is proud to be UCLA's first neurodiversity initiative, making UCLA one of the nation's leading neurodiversity-friendly campuses.

Our model consists of weekly socials, a peer mentoring program, workshops, and trainings for groups on how to better facilitate a neurodiverse friendly environment in their work (faculty, departments, student groups, etc.) Our close partnership with UC-LEND (Leadership and Education in NeuroDiversity) expands our model to offer interdisciplinary clinical support, and our support under UCLA's Center of Excellence in Maternal and Child Health has expanded our initiative to also include research studies.

All Brains' Neurodiversity Initiative has currently expanded to Santa Monica High School and is eager to expand further into other schools, clinics, and programs across the nation!

Our Story

Inspired by their peers and their community, two students and their faculty advisor saw the need for an inclusive, safe space for the neurodiverse students at UCLA. A town hall was held and feedback from neurodiverse students recognized that while there were academic resources for them, there were little to none social resources. All Brains, formally known as STAND (Students Taking Action for Neurodiversity), was formed as a dedicated program to provide this support for emerging, neurodiverse adults, specifically with college students. With neurodiversity as a relatively new concept, All Brains was eager to spread awareness to the rest of UCLA and was even more determined to make the Bruin community a larger and more respected place for students of all kinds.
