Training Requirements

The UC-LEND Training Program follows the UCLA Academic Calendar and runs from late September/early October through late May/early June. UC-LEND Practitioners fulfill the following training requirements:

  • Asynchronous Coursework: Trainees will be expected to complete the UC-LEND Long-Term Training Asynchronous Curriculum. This curriculum is comprised of videos, readings, and assignments and will be completed on a weekly basis prior to the Weekly Monday Discussions.
  • Weekly Discussion: This one-hour virtual weekly seminar on Mondays (via Zoom) from 12:00 - 1:00 PM (Pacific Time) is led by Dr. Kashia Rosenau and provides trainees the opportunity to discuss applications of the content from the UC-LEND Curriculum.
  • Capstone Project: Trainees will collaborate with other LEND Trainees, staff, and faculty on a group Capstone Project. The Capstone will connect to their work with the LEND Program and will be presented at the annual Symposium in the Spring.
    • Monthly Meeting: Trainees will meet once per month to collaborate on the Capstone project. Project time will be required outside of scheduled meetings.
  • UC-LEND Clinic: UC-LEND Trainees are required to shadow in the interdisciplinary UC-LEND Multidisciplinary Clinic at least once per academic quarter, for a total of 3 times per year. The UC-LEND Multidisciplinary Clinic is held most Wednesdays from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM via Zoom.
  • Mentorship: Trainees will receive ongoing mentorship as part of the program.
  • In-person events: In order to further provide our trainees with interdisciplinary networking opportunities, the UC-LEND program hosts occasional in-person, hybrid, or virtual cohort building and professional development events for trainees.
