Laurel Mayeda is a second-year Master's in Social Welfare student at UCLA Luskin's School of Public Affairs. Her research interest is multigenerational Asian American disability justice caregiving. She has a strong passion for qualitative methodology-specifically oral history as a decolonizing praxis. She graduated Feminist Studies and Critical Race & Ethnic Studies major with a minor in education from UC Santa Cruz. She has worked in the Bay and Los Angeles areas' healing, education, and environmental QTBIPOC justice spaces. Laurel hopes to pursue her Ph.D. in Ethnic/Cultural studies.
