Kanak Das, also known as Kony, is a second year MSW student at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs. She completed her BS in Psychobiology from UCLA, during which time she gained training in CBT by coaching community college students for the UCLA Grand Depression Challenge's STAND Program for three years while also assisting with Behavioral Neuroscience research on cognitive flexibility and value-based learning mechanisms in Dr. Alicia Izquierdo's lab. Her first year MSW placement at Evolve Treatment Center Vanalden helped her attain more familiarity with DBT theories and skills and working with adolescent populations, and her summer stint as Interim Health and Wellness Coordinator with Meals on Wheels West has provided her with light case working experience for homebound, older adults.

Kony's long-term professional goals are to make the experience of engaging with the healthcare industry more accommodating and accessible for both patients and care providers. Personally, she enjoys gaining new experiences, especially in food and performative arts.
